Moen faucets

Moen faucets are very popular and reliable faucets. Mostly all of them use the same style replacement cartridge. This makes for easy fixes for most leaks that happen with them.

In recent years, they have started to come out with some different style parts. The first part we will deal with is the main standard cartridge.

One cartridge replaces it all. They come in brass or plastic. They are both interchangeable. The clip in the picture is the retaining clip. This is what prevents the cartidge from coming out of the faucet. The replacement cartridge also comes with a small plastic square. It is the tool that is used for loosening up the cartridge. Once the cartridge is loosened up, and the retaining clip is removed, it should be able to be pulled out with a pair of pliers.

Moen cartridges also can be inserted or put together backwards leading to the cold and hot to be reversed. In most cases, just the handle can be reversed to fix the problem. In some cases, the cartridge may have to be removed and turned around.
